2026 Town of Greenport Tentative budget
SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
The Town of Greenport will hold a Special Town Board meeting on Thursday October 16, 2025 at the Greenport Town Hall, 600 Town Hall Drive, Hudson, New York 12534 from 1:00 to 2.30 P.M. The meeting will be held to discuss the Tentative Budget for 2026 and to approve the Tentative Budget as the Preliminary Budget.
The Town is allowing people to join in person at the Greenport Town Hall. You may also join us virtually at meet.google.com//ive-yded-fha or join us by phone at (US) + 1-315-810-2239, PIN:506744243 . There will be no public comment observed at this meeting. Questions will be welcomed at the Public Hearing on the budget on Wednesday, November 5, 2025

Tax bills may be viewed online at: www.egov.basny.com/greenport
Town and County tax bills will be in the mail the first week in January. Payments can be made by January 31st without penalty.
After January 31st a 1% penalty will be added each month.
Taxes paid after February 28th will incur a 2% penalty. After March 31st the penalty will be an additional 3% and after April 30th an additional 4%.
The last day that payments can be made to the Town Tax Collector is May 31st. After that date, all payments must be made to the Columbia County Treasurer, 15 North 6th Street, Hudson, New York 12534 (518-828-0513)

Greenport Dog Licenses:
Every dog four (4) months of age or older, owned in New York State for over 30 days must be licensed in the municipality in which the dog is harbored. If you have not yet obtained a license for your dog(s) please do so immediately.
The cost of a Dog License in Greenport is:
$15.00 for Spay or Neutered
$25.00 for Unaltered
At the time of making an application you will need to have:
Payment
Proof of rabies vaccination (including the manufacturer name for the serum and serum lot number)
Proof that your dog is spayed or neutered (if applicable). You will need this proof to receive the reduced fee of $15.00
For Your Dog(s) License to Remain Valid, The License Must Be Renewed Annually.
* The penalty for harboring an unlicensed dog may result in a fine up to $250 or imprisonment for a period of no more than 15 days. Each day that a violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.
